Grace

This young lady is hard to capture, I try, but fail, I should have had her hold a book, maybe!  She is growing into a wonderful young lady, she is now 152 months old, well, about 12 1/2 is more appropriate, but she is still my baby!  I am so proud of her, she is so good at school, straight A's, working so hard to stay on top of everything.

She has a beautiful singing voice and is a member of the Kansas Youth Chorale.  Grace is such a huge help to me, I really don't know what I would do without her.  I love that she lets me in still and just talks and talks, about everything; books, friends, school, I know the older she gets, the fewer these times could become, I treasure them.

Next month she will be starting track, she's not really ever been that interested in a particular sport (mostly books) long-term, maybe track will capture her interest.  She is so strong of mind and confident, and has such good taste in friends, books and music, so strong in her faith, I really can hardly wait to see what she becomes.  Well, that's not true, I CAN wait, these kids grow up so fast!

Grace's Valentine Dance

I was so excited to meet the infamous Cori last night!  I picked the girls up from school and we were lucky enough to get to know this wonderful young lady first hand.  The other kids just adored her and she was a wonderful guest.  She and Grace talked about school and music, and from what I can tell they have a lot in common, like good books and good grades, though I think Cori was a little iffy on Grace's love of Taylor Swift! Being the true country music fan that she is!  I heard lots of laughing and when they were ready for the dance, both girls agreed to pose for pictures, so, you know, I was a happy momma!
Then, you know the little ones HAD to have a picture with the pretty girls!
I'm so amazed at how fast Grace is growing up now, I'm so encouraged that she is striving for good grades and just an all around good student!  I'm also so pleased to see that her choice in friends is so good!  This Miss Cori's parents are definitely doing something right.  I must admit, I don't actually give myself much credit for my Miss Grace, I stand in awe of the woman she is becoming and think, only God, only God!

The Older Ones-Finally!

I told these two that I wanted more pictures of them, both of them are becoming camera shy for me!  So these are forced photos, but non the less, I now have an up-to-date photo of each of them and if (heaven forbid) Ethan goes missing, I know that this will be the EXACT clothes that he will be wearing, a different t-shirt under the hoodie, but always the hoodie, and then there is the hat, always the hat!

Everyone says that Grace looks so much like me, but I am truly amazed how much she actually looks like my mom!  At any rate, she is turning into a beautiful young woman, I am very proud of her!  She is a straight A student, a book worm and is my greatest side-kick in all things to keep this house running.  She will be amazing at anything she decides to do with her life!
Ethan tries to play it cool, because 9 is a very cool age, he gets very good scores in school and he is an excellent baseball player, he is such a tender hearted young man, pretty quiet (around people he doesn't know), the Lego MANIAC!

And I warn him every time, if you make faces, I WILL post them!!!

The Training Of A Book Worm

Grace is very well know as our "Book Worm" and she is very proud of that, well, it seems that she is somewhat determined to turn her little sister into one too!  She is constantly sticking a book in her nose, and Faith LOVES it!
Even if they are on the swings, they have a book!  I joke, but Faith already really does enjoy being read to, and will always bring you a book if you sit down for more than a moment, and we have Grace to thank for that! Uh oh!  Don't tell Faith-but, her book is upside down!
